Sustainability

Our Mission

At Oceancash, we strongly value sustainability in fulfilling our business strategy as well as achieving our whole mission. We strive to deliver the best results at the lowest possible cost by optimising sustainability practises through the ideation, research, and development process.

We are concerned about future generations and the natural environment. Thus, we aim to provide technological solutions with the least amount of negative environmental impact.

At the same time, we strive to broaden our social responsibility programmes with our key stakeholders in order to encourage deeper engagement. This is to show our devotion to pursuing this journey of life where we can do better for people and the earth.

Our Commitment

Since 2021, Oceancash has pledged support for the UN Global Compact corporate responsibility initiative, including its commitments in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment, and abuse of power.

In this initiative, 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) were outlined, with the dual goals of promoting prosperity and protecting the environment. Oceancash has selected 8 of these 17 objectives that we are dedicated to accomplishing.

Our Journey

Social

We select qualified employees through comprehensive human resources development.

We use cotton denim waste and ocean-bound plastic for our felt products. They were all collected by people in developing countries who actually earn from them. Examples of collected plastics include straws and PET bottles that can later be used to make recycled PET fibres. This way, we manage to help both these people and the environment.

We design corporate processes and products, considering all the social expectations and legal regulations.

We integrate SEDEX guidelines for social responsibility into our administrative framework.

Environmental

We actively contribute in avoiding energy losses and increasing energy efficiency.

We are dedicated to practising resource-conscious behaviour by using more renewable energy thanks to our on-site solar system.

Our main plant in Malaysia is ISO 50001: 2018 (Energy Management Systems) certified and we aim to attest other plants as well.

Our nonwoven products are free from harmful substances and are Öekotex 100 certified.

We will fully comply with environmental laws, regulations, and standards to achieve zero material non-compliance issues.

Corporate Governance

High quality, innovative products are well assured by our detailed management process.

Our plants are all ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems) certified.

We incorporate our suppliers early on to create a partnership-based supplier and product development.

Incorporating economic considerations into our use of innovative technologies.

We are dedicated to adhering to the Corporate Governance Guidelines established by the Bank Negara and BURSA Malaysia Listing Requirements in order to encourage moral and open business conduct throughout all of our operations in the area.
